In
2001 when the USGA contested its U.S.
Women's Open at Pine Needles, Kendra Graham,
director of women’s competitions for the
USGA, summed it up best. Pine Needles, she
says, “is a classic; it’s such a memorable
golf course. You need every club in your bag
and you remember every hole after you play
it one time. The holes feel like they’ve
been there forever.” The 2007 United
States Women's Open Championship returns to
Pine Needles offering one of the finest Open
Championship venues in the event's history.
This marks the 3rd time Pine Needles has
hosted this event in the past on the 1927
Donald Ross design. |
